According to Emily Parkhurst from The Puget Sound Business Journal, Seattle is not a great city to live in if you're a renter. In the article, "Seattle area one of the least affordable in the U.S. for renters," Parkhurst says that according to numbers released by Zillow, "renters in the Seattle area pay more than 31 percent of their income toward the rent," a statistic above the national average. The number is also "up sharply from the average for Seattle over the last 30  years," an indication that now presents a perfect opportunity to buy.
